Emily and Brad's Wedding

We're back from St. Louis where we attended Emily's wedding. The wedding was beautiful! After Brad and Emily exchanged their very emotional and heartfelt vows, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. I even managed to not fall on my face or mess up my reading. During the reception Grandpa Tung danced with Naomi until she fell asleep on his shoulder. We put her in her stroller and parked her next to Great Grandma where she continued to sleep for the entire party! It was pretty incredible getting to hang out with the entire Chen clan, I just wish we had more time together.

flower power

Strangers always think Naomi is a boy. It never really bothered me, especially because her hair is still growing out and most of her clothes are sort of tomboyish. But the other day she was wearing a pink striped shirt and 2 different people at Trader Joe's still commented on what a cute boy I had.
I'm getting tired of the usual exchange, "CUTE! What's his name?"
me, "Naomi"
well meaning stranger, "Oh...ha ha.. you can never tell at this age!"
At least they think she's cute. Still, it's getting old. So today I decided I would make her a bit of girlie frill. The sewing is a bit ratty and messy, but I'm just going tell everyone it's hobo chic.
